TMNT 2012 Episode 12 Review

A brand new mutant alligator known as Leatherhead is saved from the Kraang by the Turtles. Is this monster all that he appears to be, or is he more trustworthy? Find out as I take a look at Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 Episode 12 “It Came From Beneath the Depths.” This episode first aired on Nickelodeon on December 15th 2012.

TMNT 2012 Episode 12 “It Came From Beneath the Depths” Review.

So what did this reviewer think of TMNT 2012 Episode 12 “It Came From Beneath the Depths”? I thought this was a good effort put forward by this show. It introduced one of the more beloved recurring characters for the franchise into this new continuity.

We start with a giant mutant gator engaging the Kraang in battle. He escapes with a mysterious container containing a power source. Back at the lair, we get a brief glimpse of Mikey’s disgusting cooking habits. I would have to agree that a pizza milkshake is not appetizing. They notice the alligator going on a rampage, and our Turtles find the alligator. They save him from the Kraang, and bring him home.

Donnie, obviously being the level headed one, suggests to chain him up. Mikey doesn’t like that idea. But that idea seems sound when our mutant alligator wakes up, and goes on a rampage. Including grabbing Donatello by the face, and shaking him, although come to think about it, Don really did get quite a fair bit of abuse in this episode. Splinter suggest that the alligator should be chained up. He shows compassion, but he’s not insane.

Mikey stays to gator sit, as Donnie, Raph, and Leo go after what the gator found. Mikey and Leatherhead bond, as Leatherhead actually enjoys Mikey’s cooking. Well the law of averages indicates that someone had to eventually. And Mikey once again names someone in this show, but that is his role. Meanwhile Leo, Raph, and Donnie go after the power cell, and have a rough time of it. Donnie does have a point. Why is he the one always having to touch the Kraang’s dangerous technology?

They return, and Leatherhead goes into bezerk mode whether the Kraang are mentioned. And he’s not too happy that the TMNT lifted the power cell. Splinter is epic in this episode, just casually dodging Leatherhead’s bezerker rage attacks, and just owning him something fierce.

Eventually the truth comes out. Leatherhead was once a pet, before he had been flushed by his owner’s parents. And then he was experimented by the Kraang. He dedicated himself to making sure no more of them show up. Leatherhead buys the TMNT some time to escape. Then the Kraang is left at his tender mercy(or lack there of), while our Turtles are sent to a sewage plant.

So this was a fun episode. I would give it a thumbs up, and recommend checking it out when it reruns.

TMNT 2012 Episode 11 Review

Baxter Stockman returned this week, with his new breed of mouser robots. The Purple Dragons steal April’s cell phone. The TMNT are split into two halves. Who is better? The A-Team of Leonardo and Raphael who have to deal with the mousers, or the B Team of Donatello and Michelangelo who have to recover April’s cell phone from Dogpound and the Purple Dragons.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 Episode 11 “Attack of the Mousers” first aired on December 8th 2012 on Nickelodeon.

TMNT 2012 Episode 11 “Attack of the Mousers” Review.

So what did this reviewer think when he watched TMNT 2012 Episode 11 “Attack of the Mousers”? I thought this was a solid episode, and really this one did an excellent job in setting up the dynamic between the Turtles. Donnie and Mikey might not be as adept at fighting as Raph and Leo, but they do have their own dynamic part of the team.

The entire mess of this episode was started with April getting her cell phone robbed, by known other than the Purple Dragons. Splinter suggests that they should just let it go, which is sound advice. However, there would not be much of a story here if it was just let go. So the Turtles go after the cell phone.

Mouser robots make their debut, controlled by none other than Baxter Stockman himself, who gets absolutely no respect. He was called “Dexter Speckman” by both Raph and Leo at various points in this episode. Leo and Raph gets sprayed by a radioactive substance so the mousers can trace them for easier search. Donnie and Mikey, they go through all sorts of interesting plans to try and retrieve April’s cell phone, from Dogpound and the Purple Dragons.

Stockman gets dragged into the mess, and he manages to avoid the wrath of Dogpound by talking about his knowledge with electronics. So Dogpound gets Stockman to hack into the cell phone, the GPS system, to find out where Splinter and the Turtles live. Leo and Raph are having quite the time against the mousers.

The two plots spill into each other, with the Turtles working together. Stockman and Dogpound are sprayed by their own spray. The mousers go after them. Dogpound escaped with Stockman, and Stockman is brought before the Shredder. The Shredder may have a use for him. If we recall past shows, that never ends too well for Stockman, but we’ll see.

Overall, I thought this was a fun episode. I’ll recommend checking out Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 Episode 11 “Attack of the Mousers” when you get the chance.

TMNT The Gauntlet Review

The ninth episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2012 aired for the first time on Saturday Morning, November 17th 2012. This show has entertained over the past few episodes. Is there some absurdity? Yes, there is a great deal of absurdity. But when you have a show that has the main premise about four mutated turtles learning ninjitsu, then you can afford to go down the trip down the realm of insane. I found this week's effort to be fascinating for a number of reasons.

Of course, in many ways, this was a tale of two episodes, maybe three episodes. They packed a lot into the twenty two minutes they were allowed. The Turtles fought a number of problems, and just when you thought they would reach their greatest triumph, he shows up. The Shredder faces the Turtles for the first time. And as always, the Shredder just curb stomps the four of them. That never ceases to be amazing. It just shows how much of a badass the Shredder is that he can step in and take charge like that.

One of the worst kept secrets in the show finally were brought out. Of course, that's the problem with buying action figures, or even seeing them. They tend to spoil the show. I think half of the fanbase, at least the hardcore people who post on the Internet, knew this was coming. Regarding the two characters who were mutated, but I found it to be interesting in the how. And their transformation threw the Shredder off guard and allowed the Turtles to escape.

Of course, this week's efforts, on TMNT 2012 Episode 9 "The Gauntlet" started with a giant pigeon mutant. There are more thoughts on this one, so follow the link below for the full scope, of this week's efforts on Nickelodeon.

TMNT Episode 7 Monkey Brains Review

This week's episode of TMNT 2012 was a fascinating little episode. Might not be my favorite one of the series, but it had its moments.

Scientists being mutated into monkeys. Evil scientists using said monkeys to derive psychic serums to defeat mutant turtles. Donatello being prepared to an obsessed level that would make Batman say he needs to slow down. Lots of Donatello/April things that people will either like or hate. A little bit of something, but was seven the lucky number for our turtle teens?

Ultimate Spider-Man Episode 25 Review

The two part Ultimate Spider-Man Season finale aired on Disney XD on October 28th 2012. The first part was Ultimate Spider-Man Episode 25 "Revealed." We had the uber ugly goblin manifest, and we had some rather decent moments. Some rather frustrating moments, and the usual polarizing performance that Ultimate Spider-Man does promise. The review in all of its glory is linked below.

TMNT Episode 6 Metalhead Review

The Kraang returns with a vengeance, and we finally bring the plotline that April's father was kidnapped back up. Sick of his Bo Staff being a handicap, Donatello creates a new weapon. After all, nothing can go wrong there, nothing at all. The full review of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Episode 6 Metalhead is linked below. TMNT Metalhead Preview

Each and every Saturday Morning, they are mean, they are green, and they are coming at you on your television screen. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles return with the sixth episode of their 2012 show. The show has gained its share of fans and its share of critics. Regardless of what side of the fence you fall on, we are back in business for a half of hour of turtle power.

This week's episode features another modification of an old favorite from the original 1987-1996 cartoon and a character you might recognize from the video games. The mutant robotic Turtle known as Metalhead. Let's go down for the official preview for this latest episode on Nickelodeon  Episode 6 of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

TMNT Episode 6 "Metalhead" Preview.

"Weary of using his simple bō to fight the technologically advanced Kraang, Donatello creates Metalhead, a remote-controlled robot turtle to fight in his place. "

Sounds like another interesting episode. Donatello gets some time to shine this week, so fans of the brainy turtle should look at this week. You can watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Episode 6 "Metalhead" on Nickelodeon at 10:00 AM Eastern time this Saturday Morning.

TMNT Episode 4 Thoughts.

The latest episode of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to air on Nickelodeon was titled New Friend, Old Enemy. Mikey becomes friends with a martial arts master named Chris Bradford, who A) looks like Chuck Norris, and B) is Shredder's top student.

Five points of interest to this episode.

1) I'm sure Mikey's fanboying for Mr. Bradford (or Rad Brad) likely spawned more than a few slash fiction ideas. Then again, Raph was being pretty snarky about it during this episode of the TMNT. Mikey acted like a star crossed lover.

2) Splinter's lecture about fair fights was interesting, and rather true. I mean, you're fighting ninjas that are trying to kill you. There is a time to fight fair, and there is a time just to win. That was showcased brilliantly when the Turtles finally dealt with the Foot Clan during this episode.

3) No Kraang this week, which is more than fine.

4) This April/Donatello romance is fine, as long is it remains rather one sided. It still kind of is creepy, but it's less creepy when it's just on the side of the Turtle.

5) Mikey and the kitten, that really was a hilarious scene. Especially the ninja kitty clawing Mikey up.

Overall a fun episode this week.
