Green Lantern the Animated Series Episode 4 Into the Abyss Review
Razer and Kilowog are still at
odds during this episode during the early part, sparked by Kilowog’s
interesting eating habits. Hal Jordan has to play the referee between these two
hot headed individuals. He manages to keep the peace well enough…about as well
as can be suspected, but then there is a distress call. A ship with a cargo of
eggs is in danger of being drawn into a black hole.
Hal Jordan being the hero he is,
is all for saving the eggs, even if this does seem foolish, it is the right
thing to do. After saving the Captain of the ship, Hal Jordan, Kilowog, and
Razer try to get the engines back running, but there is a problem. Aya seems to
have gone offline, leaving our team on their own. Not to mention the bugs have
appeared to have hatched, and they appear to be eating the power lines. Of
course, things are rarely what they seem.
Kilowog does a bold but daring
move to keep the ship being sucked in, as Razer and Hal Jordan try and fight
their way to the engine room, but it appears that the bugs are really Aya, in
robotic shells. The ship engine gets started, but they may be past the point of
no return. Until Hal Jordan gets the bright idea of flying the ship towards the
black hole to get enough momentum to propel themselves out.
Yeah, I’m not sure how
scientifically feasible that is either, but this is a cartoon with an universal
groups with power rings that are charged by a green lantern so I’m going to let
it slide. That does manage to work and the cargo was saved, some cute little
alien bug critters.
I did enjoy Kilowog trying to
tell Aya about why she shouldn’t be a green Lantern, with Hal Jordan and Razer
wisely staying out of that particular argument. The only decent argument is
that she doesn’t have a physical body to interact with people, so she creates
one. Well that was simple enough.
I enjoyed this episode this week,
8/10 for the latest Green Lantern Episode. You can watch Green Lantern the
