Young Justice Insecurity Review

It is time to review Young Justice Episode 23 Insecurity. In this episode, Red Arrow joining the team blows up all of insecurities of Artemis but things tend to really go even worse, with her checkered family past and her need to prove herself. Young Justice Episode 23 Insecurity first aired on March 31st 2012 as part of the DC Nation Block on Cartoon Network.

Young Justice Episode 23 Insecurity

Josh Keaton, the Spectacular Spider-Man himself, voicing Black Spider, the most shameless rip off of Spider-Man ever albeit, nets at least a point for this episode right off of the bat. Of course, I find it intriguing that this episode aired right on the eve before the new Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. Things like this make you say, hmmm. That was great casting, compete with web slinging. Of course Artemis and Green Arrow take him down, but Red Arrow is watching from the distance, and obviously still suspicious about Artemis. And there are many things to be suspicious of for sure.

Red Arrow agrees to join the team, which does not set well with Artemis especially after some news her mother gives her, from when she joined the team and obviously she takes it the wrong way, thinking that she is a pity case.

The Sportsmaster is up to no good, I know, news flash, so Red Arrow, Kid Flash, and Aqualad are going after him, but Artemis wants in the mission, with a chance to prove herself. What we have here is one huge circle of distrust throughout this episode and Cheshire shows up, to stir the pot, playing off of her connection to Artemis along with her past interactions with Red Arrow, to really stir the pot. We had some great fight scenes and obviously the Light continues their plans, which never could be good.

There is more suspicion thrown out and obviously they want us to think Artemis is the mole, which means either she won’t be or it will be a surprise if she is.

The scene with Artemis and Sportsmaster at the end was fine. Obviously each member seems to be set up for something.

As for the other members of the team, Zatanna, Miss Martian, and Superboy investigate what Red Tornado does in his apartment since he doesn’t need to eat or sleep. I do wonder…but he is building an android shell so he can walk amongst humans. And Robin is missing, again, but given that he’s going to off a lot with Batman doing the Dynamic Duo thing.

I’ll give this episode an 8.5/10 as it held my attention, had a lot of intrigue, a lot of moments, and really tongue in cheek casting choice. You can watch Young Justice Episode 23 Insecurity if you have Cartoon Network on Demand and as always watch new episodes of Young Justice every Saturday Morning on the DC Nation at 10:30 AM Eastern Time.
