It is now time to reach right into the
really big comic book box of doom and pull out another random comic
book to review. The next issue is Batman Legends of the Dark Knight
Issue 62. Bruce Wayne continues fighting a never ending stream of
ninja assassins, being pushed right through the breaking point.
Meanwhile Azbats is about ready to lose his mind.
Legends of the Dark Knight Issue 62
Review
Legends of the Dark Knight was part of the Knightsend Story Arc, Part 4, released by DC Comics in July 1994, with the title of "Devils." Legends of the Dark Knight Issue 62 was written by Chuck Dixon, Penciled by Ron Wagner, Inked by Ron McCain, Colored by Digital Chameleon, and Lettered by Willie Schubert.
This issue was a
tale of two Batmen and really underlines how different that they are.
Jean Paul Valley obviously was one of the worst decisions, but
obviously this was intended to be a bad decisions. Fans for years
wanted a more violent Batman, especially when late 1980s and late
1990s when the anti heroes came out to play.
Azrael, Jean-Paul
Valley, Azbats was a commentary about why a Batman who is not
unwilling to kill is not a good idea. It just rather goes right from
the core purpose of the character. The further Azbats goes into the
deep end, the further that he becomes a big problem for the city of
Gotham City, with his own lingering insanity causing issues.
Bruce Wayne does
battle with ninja assassin after ninja assassin by Lady Shiva to get
himself back into shape. With the only way that assassins stop, is
that he has to break his own rule. And this battle was the toughest
one yet, where it did seem to be killed and be killed.
And it does seem
like Bruce has really has no choice, given the toughness of his
opponent. He puts the master down and Robin and Nightwing show up. It
appears that the rule has been broken but as we find out in Robin 8,
things are not what they seem.
Overall a rather
wonderful issue of Batman throughout a rather prominent period of
both this comic and DC Comics in General.
