West Coast Avengers 3 Review

We reach our hands right into the Really Big Comic Book Box of Doom™ and pull out another comic book. It is now time to review West Coast Avengers Volume 1 Issue 3 entitled “Taking Care of Business”.  In this episode, the Blank and Graviton join forces, in their attempts to take down the West Coast Avengers.

West Coast Avengers Volume 1 Issue 3 Review

West Coast Avengers Volume 1 Issue 3 was released by Marvel Comics in November 1984, written by Roger Stern, penciled by Bob Hall, Inked by Brett Breeding, colored by Julianna Ferriter, lettered by Rick Parker, with Mark Gruenwald as the letterer. In this issue, our West Coast team deals with the threat of the Blank and Graviton.

Growing pains for our new team, with a great deal of insecurities, for various reasons and obviously the fact that Hawkeye has to be the team leader instead of the team hot head, are present in this issue. This is underlined rather well. If the team can get over themselves and work well, then they can be good.

There are many handicaps to overcome with the writing in this comic book. But obviously the team has to work despite pretty much everything. The snow storm was a rather interesting diversion, and obviously, you just know that two villains are not going to work together for too long. Graviton has his own self serving believes.

Three out of four of these issues are written, with a nice fluid story that is bouncing from one page to the other. A good job is done making you want to pick up the next comic book for more and not in a “really, that was it” way but “really I want more”. That to me is the best thing that can be done and I really am hoping for more.

Part Four is next on the pile and I am salivating how things get wrapped up in the West Coast Avengers.
