Young Justice Episode 28 Earthlings Review
Spoilers will be had for Young Justice Episode 28 Earthlings, so you know the drill by now.
Episode Summary
Miss Martian, Adam Strange, Superboy, and Beast Boy are on the planet of Rann to investigate the invasion of Kroloteans, and their use of Zeta Beam technology to get on Earth. They have the help of Allana and her father Sardath with dealing with the problem of the invasion. The main thing is to rather destroy the Zeta Platforms. Also we find out the Justice League are fugitives of the galaxy.
Unfortunately, this little plan does not make the Kroloteans very happy, who go after the members of the team, kidnapping Miss Martian and Beast Boy for a brief time. Allana and Superboy make the save, as Miss Martian gets the answers(rather roughly) out of an alien, leaving him in a rather bad state.
The thing that Miss Martian found out, as we really found out what happened during the missing sixteen hours a mere five years.
Episode Review
I have never enjoyed and simultaneously been annoyed by another cartoon show so much in my life as I have been by Young Justice: Invasion. And the more I think about it, it is the not the fault of this show, but rather the fault of the scatter brained scheduling of Cartoon Network.
Cartoon Network, who decides to schedule a cartoon to be on hiatus at the worst possible times, but the one time where a hiatus would be a good idea, just jumps right into the next season, which just happens to be set five years later.
With that rant out of the way, I thought all things considered, this was a rather passable episode and we got some interesting insight of some of the things that happened in the intervening five year period, namely what happened between Superboy and Miss Martian.
Granted I was not really interesting with what was said, but rather what was unsaid. And with this episode, I'm nearly convinced that M'Gann did something unspeakingly horrifying to some enemy that caused the relationship to fail. Just a theory I have. And granted, we've seen her rather mess up someone mentally before, Psimon in the first season.
Beast Boy's mother was killed by Queen Bee, that was sad. Although I do found the brother and sister relationship between him and Miss Martian to be quite endearing. My black fanboy heart must have softened in my old age.
Alice In Wonderland Reference for the win.
Two episodes in, I'm kind of feeling underwhelmed by this season, but I remain optimistic that the sum of the parts will actually resound better than the parts itself.
Final Summary and Review
I suppose I have to give this episode a rating, considering I copped out last week. Actually I don't have to because this is my review, and I can kind of do whatever I want, but I will anyway. 7/10 which means this is not a bad episode per say but just something along the lines of, this show has bad scheduling and I blame Cartoon Network for being inept bunglers. If you missed this episode, you can watch Young Justice Episode 28 Earthlings on Sunday Morning at 10:30 AM Eastern Time and also on Cartoon Network On Demand.
