Young Justice Episode 30 Salvage Review

As always, there will be spoilers for the latest episode of Young Justice, so this is your last chance to step right off to the side.

Episode Summary

The clone of Roy Harper, the one known as Red Arrow, foils a robbery, as Green Arrow watches in a disapproving manner. Red Arrow has seen better days, looking malnourished and rather strung out, to the concern of many.

Meanwhile, Superboy and Blue Beetle follow a lead to the bomb that Kaldur(the former Aqualad) used to wipe out the Koroleteans and the the most obvious suspects would be Intergang, who is up to something. As it turns out, they use technology to activate the husks of a race of aliens that the original seven of the Justice League defeated a long time ago.

In a battle, the control device gets destroyed, causing the beast to go on a rampage. However it is out of pain, so Blue Beetle and Superboy try to help it, but it is destroyed by a mysterious shadowed figure who is conversing with Sportsmaster throughout this episode. With Intergang tied up, there is a mystery of who did it.

The intervention with Red Arrow did not go well, as he appears to have mentally given up since he has a clone. As Wally West(the former Kid Flash, who has apparently gotten out of the Super Hero game, at least for the time being), returns to Artemis, saying that Red Arrow is a lost cause.

Meanwhile, Cheshire, who has married Red Arrow in the the five years, says that she called in some favors and might have a lead on the real Roy Harper, but he has to pull himself together, for the sake of his daughter, Lian.

Episode Review

Well more mysteries of some of the stuff that happened over the last five years. Obviously the Superboy and Blue Beetle stuff against Intergang really did fulfill the action quotient for this show, but obviously the real story was all of the stuff with the clone of Roy Harper, plus obviously we know what became of Kid Flash and Artemis after Season 1.

Now Red Arrow, heh, we all know what the creators of his show are trying to imply with his appearance and the way he isn't taking care of himself. Granted the fact that he's looking for the real Roy Harper, that's what the official story of this episode is. But his appearance and the line that Black Canary about how he used to treat his body like a temple, yeah, we all know.

Trust me, we all know.

The Invasion Plot Line kind of took a backseat and that is fine, as despite that being the tag line for this season, we do have all of those loose ends that we need to tie up. At least the original team is all accounted for, so speculation on what might have happened has been put to bed.
