Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Episode 45 Emperor Stark Review

This review contains spoilers of Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, Emperor Stark.

Episode Synopsis

Vision goes to sleep with a month of repairs but when he wakes up, he wakes up in a world, where Tony Stark appears to have taken over the world. As he reactivates J.A.R.V.I.S., he tries to get a measure of what happened. Captain America shows up and attacks Vision, but Vision manages to snap Captain America after it.

It is revealed, that the latest battle with the Avengers was with the Purple Man, a villain who can put others under his control and have them bend to his will. He has manipulated Iron Man into taking over the world and taking control. After Vision and Captain America flee the Iron Man robots, a possessed Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye attack Vision and Captain America. After a bit, Captain America and Vision snapped them out of it.

The four Avengers have to go to the satellite which is enabling the Purple Man to have his control over the world. They run into Thor, and some other problems, including Ms. Marvel being pulled back under the Purple Man's control but Hawkeye manages to disable the satellite. Yet, since Tony is still with Purple Man, he is still under his thrall. Captain America fights Iron Man in an attempt to snap him out of it.

The Avengers show up as the mind control on Iron Man weakens. The Purple Man's control is broken and the Avengers beat him.

Tony Stark has to deal with the consequences of what happened and Captain America tells him that the world does know that the Purple Man was behind this and suggests Tony managed to fight him off to an extent, when he forgot to deactivate Vision.

Episode Review

A good episode, although I slightly felt it was rushed in faces. Brent Spiner, a really weak version of the Joker on Young Justice, however, I thought he was good as the Purple Man. He is a disturbing amount of chilling menace. You get the sense that this guy can really make some really decent people do some really horrible things.

And if you read some of the things that the Purple Man have done in the comic book, oh boy.

Captain America being broken rather easily was good. And the way Hawkeye was broken from the mind control was rather start. Although I do kind of raise an eyebrow about this control being done in a month but we'll just let it slide.

You know, if someone actually does resemble the Hulk exists, he's not going to be too happy that he forgot about him for so long. I'm just saying.

Final Thoughts and Rating

7.5/10 for a nice action packed episode and a rather menacing villain. You can watch Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Episode 45 Emperor Stark legally in the United States on Disney XD sometime soon(or in other places otherwise if you know where to look).
