Young
Justice Episode 21 Image Review
HELLO MEGAN. A phrase that has
caused many of fanboy to shutter. Much like all catchphrases, it is all a
matter of timing, of whether it is amusing, obnoxious, endearing, or you’re
just indifferent to the entire situation.
This is very much a Miss Martian
episode. And well I’ll be honest with you, while it is not a bad episode, it
was not something that really connected with me. And those are the episodes are
kind of the hardest to review when you think about it. Because a good episode,
you’re gushing over it, a bad episode and you can spend time ripping into every
flaw. And middle of the road episodes, you watched it, it wasn’t the waste of a
half hour but it was most certainly not something that you went out of your way
to do it again.
There were some rather funny
moments in this episode. M’Gann and Conner’s um role playing at the
beginning…yeah that made me snicker. Of course Green Arrow’s trying hard not to
laugh but failing, really did make it. And why do I have a feel that Hello
Megan song will be in the fanboy version of hell once half of us inevitably go
there.
I’m not sure if Superboy
technically being named Conner after the boyfriend on Hello Megan is really
awesome or really, really creepy. I’ll just kind of remain indifferent. And
Psimon is back and he really did a number on Miss Martian. Including showing
her true form, which we did kind of see coming to say the very least.
There were parts of this episode
that were kind of dark. The fact that we saw blood coming out of an eight year
old child during this episode, for kids, you know. Psimon got wrecked in this
episode, given the fact that he was drooling.
Also, have to bring this up,
Garfield Logan, or the future Beast Boy. His mother being the star of the
infamous Hello Megan. That is an interesting cameo. Queen Bee at the end
essentially blackmailing M’Gann, will play out in the future.
As I think about it, this episode
wasn’t half bad, but there have been a couple better recently. 7.5/10 seems
like a lightly rating. If you have Cartoon Network On Demand, you can watch
