Episode Summary

After a recap of Hank Pym's recent story arc, he cleans out the rest of his lab. Wasp tries to reason with him, to get him to say, but Pym wants know part of it, causing him to leave. However there was a nasty surprise, as his Ant-Man technology had been stolen, with the technology being dangerous in the wrong hands.

Pym's pride does not have him turn to his former team mates but rather he enlists the help of the Heroes for Hire, Iron Fist and Luke Cage, who go after the thief. The thief reveals himself to be a man known as Scott Lang, who is being blackmailed by a man named Cross, who he worked with to get money to pay for an operation for his daughter, Cassie. He refuses the help of Hank Pym and the rest of the Heroes for Hire.
Lang brings the money but Cross has his attention caught by the Ant-Man technology, thinking that Lang is Ant-Man, so he decides that it would be in his best interests to keep employing the services of Lang, using his daughter as a bargaining chick but the Heroes for Hire and Hank Pym pop in.

After a battle with Cross and his men, Lang's daughter is save and Hank Pym appears to be passing on the mantle of Ant-Man to Scott Lang.

Episode Review

A pretty solid episode overall, despite pretty much none of the Avengers being involved. Still they did a good job for what it was.

Luke Cage is the highlight, sarcastically stating that he was Captain America and his friend in the pajamas(Iron Fist) was Thor. And the episode ends with Cage asking where he can contact Pym for the rest of his payment. I find it hilarious that this Luke Cage doesn't like to be called Power Man compared to the other Luke Cage a half of an hour earlier.

So we have the Scott Lang version of Ant-Man, the second version of Ant-Man, appearing to take up the mantle. That should be an interesting one and might lead to some friction. But really you could feel for the guy, who just wanted his daughter to be safe.

Final Thoughts and Rating

Well this episode was solid, with better ones this season so far, but a pretty good episode on its own right, so 7.5/10.
