Young Justice Season 1 Thoughts

On Cartoon Network, after over a year, Young Justice Season One will finally be wrapping up. It is a rather long road to get to this point, but it is one that I have been pleased to be a part of, all of the way through. So how did Season One hold up in the end?

A General Review of Young Justice Season One

I'll say that I found myself rather kind of cold towards the really early episodes of this cartoon series. There were its moments but the characters just didn't feel like something that I could connect with but as the cartoon got on, I found myself more and more endeared with the cartoon, the storyline, and all of the various characters, with all of the twists and turns.

Twists and turns that you can see some of the seeds being planted, but they are subtle. If you know what you are looking for, you can find it, but if you are just watching what is happening, then you have no idea what is happening. That to me is a mark of a good cartoon. Everything makes sense as a package, even if things did not make sense.

I think that this cartoon took a while to really start to find its feet, but by the second half of the season, Young Justice was really nailing it. That just proves that you can seldom judge a book by its cover and often not by the first few chapters.

Not to mention while those first few chapters might not have seemed important all together, they were something that were essential to the overall plot. Perhaps not of the best quality, but the action later could have been done.

This cartoon is not perfect and I'll admit, I am judging it completely on the merits of the cartoon, because I refuse point blank to pick up any tie-in comics. But I think that ninety eight percent of the people watching it are in the same boat. From what I heard, the tie in books are a supplement but not necessary for your enjoyment of Young Justice.

The final episode of Season One of Young Justice airs on Saturday on Cartoon Network and it should be a memorable one. Let us hope that it lives to the hype.
