Young Justice Toyline Cancelled

Well that is not really good news. Given how much a show lives or dies by the success of their toyline in this day and age, given that how shows have been cancelled without any warning because they are not selling enough toys, that is not good that Young Justice had their toyline cancelled.

Young Justice Toyline Cancelled, What Does This Mean for Future of Young Justice Show on Cartoon Network?

Well we know we have two more episodes for Season 1 at the very least and the 20 episode Second Season of Young Justice, entitled Invasion which will beginning airing in late April. Beyond that, who really knows if we are going to get a Third Season of Young Justice.

There have been a lot of problems with this cartoon I think from the start, mostly on the head of Cartoon Network and just the rather poor handling of the show. Granted, they jumped the gun in airing the show too early, before a number of season one episodes were completed. Then there were long gaps, where I'm sure many children who could have gotten interested in the show and been compelled to buy toys would have long since forgotten about the show in a six month gap.

Here's a fun fact. Children tend to forget about shows if they are out of sight and out of mind. And it is not like Cartoon Network is running re-runs if this show. Six month gaps are not conductive to holding the interest of children who do buy the toys. Granted, the ratings might be good but this show lives and dies by an older demographic, that might not be that inclined to buy toys. Thus there are low sales and thus the toyline got cancelled.

We'll see what is happened but poor sales for a toy line could be the death knell for the Young Justice cartoon. Cartoon Network has been notoriously disrespectful with their properties, especially super hero related. Watch Young Justice at 10:30 AM Eastern Time as part of the DC Nation while you can.
