Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Episode 34 The Ballad of Beta Ray Bill Review

As always there will be spoilers for this episode of the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Episode Synopsis

Surtur has returned, as Thor's thoughts wander to Midgard. However, Thor is worried about his father with Odin, who has not completely recovered from the ordeal of Loki. Thor makes his way to deal with a disturbance but goes to fight a creature known as Beta Ray Bill, who thinks Thor is a demon. After a battle, Beta Ray Bill lifts Thor's hammer, and is transported to Asgard.

After a bit, Beta Ray Bill tells his story, where his people, the Korbinites, were mostly destroyed by Surtur and his demon army , with only a handful left. Given that Beta Ray Bill is worthy to wield the hammer, our heroes to to the Dwarf King, who does not have the best relationship with Odin right at the moment. He agrees to make Beta Ray Bill a weapon of his own, in exchange for a favor.

Lady Sif, Thor, and Beta Ray Bill engage the Enchantress, who has been given amass powers by Surtur, and also turned into a puppet. There seems to be flashes of the Enchantress breaking out but Surtur has her firmly in his grasp. Enchantress is defeated by a team effort but Surtur tells our heroes through the Enchantress, that the battle is far from over.

Beta Ray Bill leaves with his people, as Sif gains a new appreciation of Thor's fondness for the people of Midgard.

Episode Review

A nice touch in the intro first of all only showing Thor. That was very nice.

Beta Ray Bill, who hasn't shown up in any media other than the Super Hero Squad. A pretty good first appearance from him and true to life. This makes me wonder if a solo Thor cartoon could stand on its own two feet. Given the taste that we had for this episode, it may have some level of promise to say the very least.

The fire demons prove to be a fascinating visual, as we see the Enchantress and her new look. Amora is trying to break through the spell but Surtur is more powerful. That was nice, and rather great as she begs Thor and Beta Ray Bill to finish her off.

In both episodes(this and the Ultimate Spider-Mane episode that aired prior to this one), The Dwarf King is reluctantly to help Thor, albeit for different reasons. I thought that was a nice touch.
