Web of Spider-Man 80 Review

It is now time to reach right into the really big comic book box of doom and pull out another comic book for a random review. This time we have Web of Spider-Man Issue 80 on tap. Silvermane has Spider-Man right in his clutches and the only person who can save our web slinging hero is the Black Cat.

Web of Spider-Man Issue 80 Review

Web of Spider-Man Issue 80 was released by Marvel Comics with a cover date of September 1991 and titled "This Blood is My Blood". This issue was written by Terry Kavanagh, Pencilled by Alex Saviuk, Inked by Keith Williams, Colored by Bob Sharen, and Lettered by Rick Parker.

Silvermane as a cyborg is a rather nasty piece of work, as he wants the blood of Spider-Man for a plot. It is up to the Black Cat, with Mary Jane giving her a tracking device to find Peter. Of course, the tracking device is something that doesn't quite work out as planned but the thought rather does in fact count for something.

Spider-Man has to use his brains, especially given that Silvermane actually is trying to find out his civilian identity. His mask gets ripped, but the web head manages to disable to the visual sensors, but Silvermane has cameras, so it is just a matter of time, before he finds out the secret to the Spider-Man. Spider-Man also has to be creative, because his webbing has been utterly trashed in the previous issue, so he has to think on his feet.

He manages to get his mask back but Silvermane may have gotten an image of his mask. Black Cat shows up and we have a nice fight scene. Silvermane fully intends to rip Black Cat in half, in the most literal sense of the world. Fortunately that doesn't happen and an explosion just rather goes right off.

Silvermane appears to be destroyed but wait, there's more. It wasn't Silvermane, but really just an exact duplicate of him and his plans for Spider-Man still have not been fulfilled. Thus the plot has thickened.

A simple but rather solid issue of Spider-Man, sometimes you got to just let your hair down for the good old super hero versus evil mobster cyborg. Not worth going out of your way for but not worth running away in terror either.
