Batman 467 Review

It is now time to reach right into the really big comic book box of doom and pull out another issue. This time Batman 467 is the issue. Crime as always is going to run rampant right in Gotham City, but an old enemy long believed to be dead returns and he wants vengeance right on Robin for a previous defeat.

Batman 467 Review

Batman 467 was released by DC Comics with a cover date of August 1991, with the title of "Shadow Box, Part One". This issue was written by Chuck Dixon, Pencilled by Tom Lyle, Inked by Andy Mushynsky, Colored by Adrienne Roy, and Lettered by Todd Klein.

As many times before, we have Batman and Robin(Tim Drake version for those keeping track), are right on a stake out, in an attempt to locate some criminals. Yet, things are messy, as all signs rather point to a criminal by the name of King Snake, which previously have been believed right to be dead.

Of course, you know the number one rule of comic books to be dead, not being dead. And Batman and Robin know this better. This is an interesting and quite moody story being told, about the Chinese Triads, the mafia, in an attempt to rule Chinatown, a subdistrict of Gotham City. There is none more fierce in this distract however than the Ghost Dragons.

Commissioner Gordon, is way over his head. Batman's statement that Gordon will do what he can and he and Robin will then do what he can rings rather true. These are deadly people, mean all kinds of business, and are not going to play around. They send a powerful message, killing a man and placing a Robin costume on him. That just proves what the Ghost Dragons are capable of.

Batman always has the right frame of mind. It is not as boisterous or outlandish as fans of the Bat well know(well most of time), but the grim and gritty. Batman 467 was a rather well written and well paced issue, making the reader wanting to move to the next part.
