Cable Issue 5 Review

The next comic book to be pulled right out of the Really Big Comic Book Box is Cable Issue 5 from November 1993, titled "Sinsearly Yours, Sinsearly Mine". In this issue, a mysterious figure known as Sinsear appears to be going after Cable but is Cable the one who is really his target?

Cable Issue 5 Review

Cable Issue 5 was titled "Sinsearly Yours, Sinsearly Mine" released by Marvel Comic Books in November of 1993. Cable Issue 5 was written by Fabian Nicieza, Penciled by Darick Robinson, Inked by Jon Holdedge, Lettered by Chris Eliopoulos, and Colored by Marie Jarvins.

Ah yes this comic book is nineties trash at its finest and I mean that in a nice way, I can assure you. This is kind of stuff that was during my prime as a regular comic book reader, where things were bigger, badder, and more extreme. It really just kind of really killed the comic book industry dead for a while.

Now this issue, as it stands, there was some actions. This was around the time where it was all about the artwork because speech bubbles and dialogue tended to really shrink down. You don't need to look at the date to see about the time when a comic book was written, all you have to do is see how many speech bubbles are on the page, how much the comic is dominated by artwork, and full page spreads where you have to turn the comic around to see properly.

The artwork in this comic is rather striking and to me that is really the best thing that you could get to it. Granted, artwork is not the be all and end all, but it can distract from the fact that this is a rather breezy read. As in I can knock it back in about a few minutes. Sinsear is really a generic villain these days but I'm sure he was cool and extreme back in the 1990s.

This was not too bad of an issue of Cable although not an issue that you need to go out of your way to hunt down.
