Daredevil 293 Review
Daredevil Issue 293 was released by Marvel Comics with a cover date of June 1991, titled "Murder By Numbers." This issue of Daredevil was written by D.G. Chichenster, Penciled by Lee Weeks, Inked by Al Williamson, Colored by Max Scheele, and lettered by Jack Macchio. This issue continues the story from Daredevil 292.
Once again, this had a very intriguing tone and the key interplay between Daredevil and Punisher was the main event. Again as I said in the previous issue, they have the same enemies, but obviously their methods are so rather different, it is just night and day.
The body count war between Tombstone and Taskmaster was an intriguing way to really just bring the two main characters of this comic book issue together. And everyone was spot on from what I have read. Daredevil was spot on, Punisher was, Tombstone, Taskmaster, Kingpin, everyone who appeared right during this issue.
As with many stories, there is always someone pulling the strings in the background, with some other party just being a higher power. And what better to pull on the strings then a hand, as in the Hand, the mysterious group of assassins that have plagued Daredevil for years. When they get involved, things are about ready to get serious and potentially problematic.
So as for this issue, not the best but it was a shade above many I have. Daredevil is not my favorite character, but he can be pretty good in the right environment and this story was pretty close to being in the right environment. There was some key action and some moments, some slowness, but other than that, a solid issue of Daredevil. Don't go out of your way to check out this comic book but by all means its not something you should run like from the plague.
