Detective Comics Issue 641 Review

Reaching into the really big comic book box of doom and pulling out a random comic book to review, we have Detective Comics 641. In this issue, Batman tries to trap the crazed Andre Sinclair and his bait is his own alter ego, Millionaire Playboy Bruce Wayne.

Detective Comics 641 Review

Detective Comics 641 was released by DC Comics with a cover date of February 1992 and the title was "A Dream is Forever" which is Part 3 of 3 of the Destroyer Story Arc. In this issue, Detective Comics 641 was written by Alan Grant, Penciled by Jim Aparo, Inked by Mike DeCarlo, Colored by Adrienne Roy, and Lettered by John Costanza.

Slipping right into a third part of a three part arc can really be something that can make the heads of many readers spin. Never the less, Detective Comics 641 brings the reader up to speed with the problems the Gotham City Police Department and Batman have been having with Andre Sinclair. Like many of Batman's villains, he's not all there.

He believes in a way that he is some crusade to rid Gotham City of all of the demons. Bruce Wayne is a roadblock right in his way, with Batman deciding to use that right to his advantage, but using Wayne as bait. Naturally this would be a rather suspicious move, as the right mind would make the obvious connection between Batman and Bruce Wayne. As Commissioner Gordon's then wife, Sarah Essen nearly puts the pieces together.

I think that Gordon in some way does know, and it is something that has been hinted about, but naturally it is not something that he can legally admit, due to his job.

Issue has some good action, with Sinclair really not wanting to go down with a fight at all. The battle was rather rough in many ways and Sinclair was too far gone for Batman to help. Overall Detective Comics 641 was a good effort for Batman as always.
