Robin Vol 4 Issue 8 Review

It is now time to reach right into the really big comic book box of death, to pull out another issue. This time, the comic book issue that is pulled out will be Robin Issue 8. In this issue, Bruce Wayne appears to have had no choice to break the one rule that he had never broken. However, appearance can be in fact very deceiving when you're dealing with the Batman.

Robin Volume 4 Issue 8 Review

Robin Volume 4 Issue 8 was released by DC Comics in July 1994, and was Part 5 of the Knightsend Saga that was going on in the Batman Family Comic Books with the title "Death's Door". Robin Issue 8 was written by Chuck Dixon, Penciled by Tom Grummett, Inked by Ray Kryssing, Colored by Adrienne Roy, and Lettered by Albert DeGuzman.

After Batman got his back broke by Bane in the Knightfall Comic Book Event, he had Jean Paul Valley, Azrael take his place, as Bruce Wayne appeared to have retired from the mantle of the bat. Of course, while this did seem like a good idea in theory, this was a bad idea in practice as Azbats(as he is called by fans and also in this issue), kind of lost his mind, forcing Bruce Wayne to enlist the help of an old enemy, Lady Shiva, to train him.

Shiva's idea of training, was to send ninja after ninja, assassin after assassin after Batman, until he managed to kill one. Naturally, that would be breaking his one rule, but the title "Bruce Wayne: Murderer", rather slaps the reader in the place. Has Bruce Wayne finally betrayed his principles?

Obviously not, even as Nightwing and Robin berate Bruce about everything but Bruce is one step ahead of Lady Shiva, having maintained the illusion of death with the final master, the final assassin.

No matter what, Batman still has it. And with the world falling apart, Batman is on his way to defeat Azbats and reclaim the mantle that he had given up when Bane broke his back.

Good issue, with Robin and Nightwing playing their parts, but as usual for any time he appears, Batman steals the show.
