Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Episode 38 Secret Invasion Review

This will contain spoilers for Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Season 3 Episode 12 Secret Invasion. So beware and be prepared.

Episode Synopsis

Skrull agents prepare their invasion with strategic points on Earth, which include a satallite array set up by AIM that will wipe out every single unit on Earth. The Avenger's Mansion, SWORD, The Baxter Building, and SHIELD have been all compromised. As the Skrull agents at SHIELD tries to take out Maria Hill, she was a LMD(Life Model Decoy), the entire time.

Hawkeye, Wasp, and Ms. Marvel, the remaining three Avengers, are redirected to Washington D.C. where they meet an army of Super Skrulls who engage them in battle. The fake Captain America shows his true colors and prepares to use his ability to make people trust Captain America, to weaken the resolve of humans.

Iron Man is in bad shape, but Maria Hill shows up, fighting of Veranke, before she just manages to get Iron Man back on line. Iron Man goes to engage the Skrulls. Thor shows up to assist as does Captain America and the prisoners. The battle appears to be turning, until the Skrulls try and use their fail safe, a sonic device that will kill all humans, but Thor takes it out.

The two Captain Americas fight, with Captain Ameri-Skrull saying that he knows every though and move but Captain America says there is more to humans than thoughts and abilities, and this rallies the heroes to fight back and defeat the Skrulls.

Things appear to be cooling back down, with the remaining Skrulls being tracked back down and things being back to normal but there are still some wounds that will never heal and trust takes a long time to rebuild.

Episode Review

Awesome effort from the Avengers, if they are going out, they are going out swinging. These great episodes actually make more depressed. A mediocre cartoon, really its easy to let go. A great cartoon like Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and really, that is hard to deal with.

The future of Marvel Animation is not going to be a fun one.

On a happier note, I was rather skeptical about how this episode was going to handle wrapping up this storyline that they delivered. Thor really was awesome in this episode in particular. Plus everyone was characterized rather well.

There was never a dull moment, lots of action, just it captured the spirit of the Avengers one hundred percent and the Skrulls in all their research, all of their foretold prophecy, could not have begun to imagine what they were getting themselves into.

Action packed and memorable episode. Unfortunately, it may be all downhill rather shortly, but if we got one more good story out of this show, then we are going down after the peak.

Final Thoughts and Rating

10/10, for really tying up everything in a great manner but also putting across the point that there may be ramifications. You can watch Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Episode 38 Secret Invasion legally in the United States in July 2012 on Disney XD.
