Detective Comics 677 Review

It is now time to reach right into a really big comic book box of doom and pull out a random comic book for a review. On today's Random Comic Book Review, we have Detective Comics Issue 677. In this comic, the battle between Azbats and Batman rages on, with Nightwing and Robin watching. Gotham City is in the hands of the battle of the bats.

Detective Comics Issue 677 Review

Detective Comics Issue 677 was Part Nine of the Knight's End story arc going on in the DC Comics, in the Batman family of comics, from August 1994, with the title of "Flesh and Steel". Detective Comics 677 was written by Chuck Dixon, Pencilled by Graham Nolon, Inked by Scott Hanna, Colored by Adrienne Roy, and lettered by John Constanza.

The duel for the mantle of the bat occurs with Batman Classic, Bruce Wayne, against Jean Paul Valley, Azbats. And the comic book really does underline the contrasts between the two. It leads to an interesting moment, where Azbats is willing to do anything it takes to hang onto the mantle of Batman. But in the end, it is a lack of understanding what it means to be Batman, that will be his undoing.

In the end, Azbats will never be Batman, the true Batman and will never be worthy of the Batman. Even if he destroyed Bruce Wayne, which has teased in the issue, there is always some disconnect right between him and the mantle.

Nightwing did step up right into this issue and take the fight to our demented not Batman during this comic book. Obviously the Batman we all know is far from dead, as always you can't keep a good Bat down. But Nightwing, is willing to take the fight, to make sure the Batman mantle.

The visuals right in this comic book were rather top notch and really added to the narrative this issue was telling. The Knights End Storyline really has been from the issues I have read to be one that was well put together for the Dark Knight and did the character justice.
