We are going to reach right into the
really big comic book box of doom and pull out another random comic
book. This time our review for our random comic book reviews is
Wolverine 96. In this comic book, Wolverine, Storm, Caliban, and
Cannoball go on a leisurely trip to enjoy nature, but obviously
things are never really that simple in the world of the X-Men.
Wolverine 96 Review
Wolverine 96 was
written by Marvel Comics with a cover date of December 1995 and the
title of "Campfire Tales." This issue of Wolverine had the
writing talents of Larry Hama, Adam Kubert and Luciano Limo on
Pencils, Dan Green on inks, Joe Rosas on colors, and Comicraft on
letters.
So this issue from
Marvel Comics, not too bad, not to deep but I do admit that it has
its charm. That is the thing about the entire run of Wolverine
comics. They can enjoyable reads but maybe not engaging reads. In
recent years, Wolverine has kind of been overexposed by Marvel but to
the credit of the company, they are dialing it back.
The 1990s, it was
not as bad as it was before it is peak. Therefore, we had some fun
interaction, enjoying nature, with Wolverine, Storm, Caliban, and
Cannonball. Now that seems to be like the cast for some kind of soap
opera. They are in the mountains and obviously Wolverine and Storm
are more cut out for this sort of thing. Especially more so than
Caliban, although Storm's little rain storm to cool them off and get
them motivated was a nice touch.
There is also some
good stories, almost as if this issue was intended to be a bit of a
jumping on point, where new readers can really get in.
Wolverine versus a
bear, not really as epic as you would think right at first. But that
little scene was fun enough right in its own way.
Not really much
more to say, other than a nice five minute read, where you can get a
bit from but perhaps not all that much. I did enjoy the issue but
Wolverine Issue 96 is not one for anyone but the completists.
