The summer has reached an end. Many
children around the nation dread the return to school. In the fall,
there are new shows on television. Saturday Morning Cartoons might
not be what they used to but for those who have Cartoon Network and
Nickelodeon they will have their fill. Geekapoolza is locked and
loaded for the 2012 television season where we have the return of
Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice.
Those two DC Cartoons are not all that
will be on. The third Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles cartoon series
will start on Nickelodeon on September 29th 2012. The CGI animated
series has caused many fans debate, but most will at least check them
out. Then there is the always polarizing Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon
on Sundays on Disney XD and the remaining Avengers Earth's Mightiest
Heroes episodes. At least the ones that have not aired in the United
States.
Young Justice ended on a nerve racking
episode. The latest effort from Greg Weisman has his usual style of
twists and turns. The remaining thirteen episodes of the Season Two
of Young Justice, titled Invasion will be looked forward to. The show
has its critics but it could turn out to be one of the more solid DC
Animated cartoons ever.
Green Lantern the Animated Series has
been overlooked by some individuals. The cartoon might not be the
most solid but the fan base found itself rather entertained all of
the same. The second season is set to air at the end of 2012 and is
the final half of the original twenty six episodes. Unless something
big breaks, Green Lantern seems unlikely to return for a second
season.
One would to live underneath a rock not
to at least hear about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The TMNT
started as an independent comic in 1984. The original cartoon aired
from 1987-1996 made them household names. The second television
series was a more mature and serious take, with some humor aired from
2003-2009. The crossover movie between the two titled Turtles Forever
had many critics but was beloved by legions of Turtle fans. In 2012,
the latest effort will be presented on Nickelodeon. Fans already
debated several decisions.
Ultimate Spider-Man is being currently
aired on Disney XD. There was no new episode on August 12th but a new
one will air on the Marvel Animation Block on December 19th. The show
had ideas that had interesting. Meddling from higher ups and the show
being pulled in too many different directions seemed to cause a
handful of good episodes to be buried underneath the rubbish.
All four cartoons will be reviewed at
this blog coming in the Fall 2012 season.
