Cable Issue 6 Review

It is now time to reach right into the Really Big Comic Book Box of Doom and pull out another issue, this time of Cable Issue 6. In this issue, the diabolical Mister Sinister awakens Stryfe within the mind of Cable. This gets the attention of Jean Grey, who feels the psychic echo of Stryfe, who wants his unholy revenge on her and Cyclops.

Cable Issue 6 Review

Cable Issue 6 was released by Marvel Comics in December 1993, part 1 of the Fathers and Sons Story Arc, titled "Sunset Breaks". This issue was written by Fabian Nicieza, Pencilled by Dwayne Turner, John Holderedge and Harry Cardelario inked, Chris Eliospolius was the letterer, and Marie Jarvins was the colorist for this issue of Cable.

Reading the first part of a story arc after reading the third part is really not something that I would recommend. Never the less, this story just proves to be rather enlightening in some ways and really just reflects some of the things that happens in the third part.

Sinister, really is not someone who invites a great deal of trust. I mean just look at the name for Heaven's sake, would you really trust someone who calls himself Mister Sinister? No, I doubt that many of us would be inclined to really do so but as he unlocks the remnants of Stryfe within the mind of Cable.

Once you get a good feel of the motivations of all of the characters, this is just a rather quick read. And given a comic that I read much later in the run, the read is just going to really get much quicker. We're getting to the point in comics like I have said in previous reviews where the story sometimes is secondary.

Regardless this is a good first part of this story arc, for those jumping in. I don't know if I had the second part, to bridge over right to the next point. Still Cable is a breezy read, not too bad, not the best but not too bad. A decent effort from the folks at Marvel Comics.
