Heart of Steel Part 2 Review

It is now time to take a look at Batman the Animated Series Episode 39 Heart of Steel Part II. The conspiracy involving HARDAC reaches its ugly head and it is up to Batman to try and stop the super computer, before it replaces all of the citizens in Gotham City with robots. Batman the Animated Series Episode 39 Heart of Steel Part II first aired on FOX on November 18th 1992.

This episode was slightly better than the first part but as I had stated with this story, it was kind of an ill fit for a Batman cartoon.

Rossum tried to program HARDAC to take care of all people that might harm someone due to the death of his daughter as it plays out in this episode. Of course, here is the thing, all people have the potential to harm someone. It’s just most do not. There is bad in everyone through and there is good in everyone. With some there is a much higher balance than others. It is human error the ability to hurt others, the biggest human error, due to our emotions.

As a result, HARDAC decides to replace everyone with robots. Every single person in the entire world. Of course, as many of us in fact know, computers have about as much chance to screw up as humans do.
There was some great action in this episode. Especially with Batman against robotic Harvey Bullock considering the fact that Batman utterly murdered that robot. Robots are fun, you can get away with all kinds of violence that you just can’t with actual humans for obvious reasons. And obviously, motor oil squirting right out of the neck of the robot just like blood would if you lopped off a human’s head in the manner that Batman did.

Kids, please don’t try that at home for the record.

Plus more hints of Barbara Gordon’s future career as Batgirl. Although the fact she got the four numbers in the precise order, I’m a bit suspect, but I’ll let it slide.

Batman of course, wins, managing to shut down the super computer, and all is well, well for right now at least.

Not a bad episode, but an episode that kind of did stick out to me. Let’s head to a 6.5/10 rating for Batman the Animated Series Episode 39 Heart of Steel Part II.
