Hercules Prince of Power Volume 1
Issue 2 Review
Hercules Prince of
Power Volume 1 Issue 2 was released by Marvel Comics with a cover
date of October 1982, part of a limited series with the title of "For
the Love of the Gods". Bob Layton wrote, pencilled, and inked
this issue, with Luke McDowell also on pencils, Rick Parker on
letters, and Christie Scheele on coloring.
Hercules the Prince of Power, while not
one of the top line characters that I enjoy right for Marvel Comics,
he never has a dull moment. Just like in this issue, where the Prince
of Power was balanced well and it was a rather easy read, but perhaps
not the best, most engaging read right out there from this comic book
company.
Hercules, is a fierce character, based
obviously of the mythological figure of the same name. He is straight
forward and ready to fight, a man of his word and a man of principal
right out there. I thought that throughout this issue, he was rather
strong, despite all of the injustice, standing beside his charge,
even if the odds were one of the characters.
I did a double take of one of the
characters in this issue, because he bared a passing resemblance to
DC Comics villain, Darkseid. Granted, it is not him, and it doesn't
look too much like him passed the first casual glance. The characters
seemed rather fair, the action was solid.
Overall, I did get a fair amount of
enjoyment out of this issue, which is really all you should expect
when you read a character that might be out of your usual comfort
zone. Hercules Prince of Power Issue 2 was at the very least a solid
issue and effort from Marvel Comic Books.
