Young Justice Alienated Review

Young Justice Episode 29 was titled Alienated, the third episode of the Young Justice: Invasion Season on Cartoon Network. The Kroloteans are invading Earth but naturally they have more than a little help. Things are going to get interesting and awkward rather fast. Young Justice Episode 29 Alienated first aired on the DC Nation on Cartoon Network at 10:30 AM on May 12th 2012.

Young Justice Episode 29 Alienated Review

As always spoilers will be present, so act accordingly if you have not seen this episode of Young Justice.

Episode Summary

In the early part of the episode, Bumblebee and Blue Beetle appear to be chasing Bibbo Bibbowski down the streets but the real Bibbo shows up to punch faux Bibbo in the face, revealing him to be another Krolotean who makes a getaway.

Meanwhile, Miss Martian, Superboy, Beast Boy, and Adam Strange return to fill the Justice League in on the missing sixteen hours and the rampage that they went on, under the control of Adam Strange. When Captain Atom asks John Stewart why this has escaped his notice, it is out of his sector but he'll ask the Guardians about it.

Meanwhile the Kroloteans are getting some added help from Black Manta and another source, the former Aqualad, who has turned to the dark side, to join the man who is his father, after the death of Tula. Needless to say in the past five years, Aqualad has changed a great deal, becoming dark and demented, but Black Manta is set to double cross the Kroloteans by blowing them up.

This little audition gets Black Manta a place with the Light, to replace the disgraced Ocean Master. Meanwhile the Justice League leaves to stand trial for what they did, leaving the team along on Earth.

Episode Review

Well this episode really should hopefully begin the trend with this series getting back on its feet after the time jump. We find out what happened with Aqualad, and obviously those who know the score knew of his parentage, but he has turned from the team and to the side of his father, Black Manta, with some bitterness. Scratch one member of the team off that is missing this season, with two more to go.

Captain Atom essentially playing the role of the Internet, asking John Stewart why the Green Lanterns hadn't heard what had happened. The Guardians suggest that the Justice League turn themselves in for a fair trial.

Bibbo was a nice little cameo in this episode and really him punching out that fake was all kinds of epic.

Lots of action in this episode, hopefully setting the tone for the rest of this season. As we find our balance after being jumped five years in the future, I really do hope that this show can really readjust to the standards from the second half of the first season.

It's just as well Black Manta joined the Light as Ocean Master didn't really do much of anything in the actual series.

The little interaction that Superman and Superboy had was good and made me smile.

Final Thoughts and Rating

8/10, for a great episode as we are getting back to business hopefully after some reservations I had. But this is one case where I'm glad to be wrong. You can watch Young Justice Episode 29 Alienated if you missed it on Sunday at 10:30 AM Eastern Time on Cartoon Network and don't forget to watch new episodes of Young Justice: Invasion Saturday Morning on the DC Nation.
