Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes
Episode 41 Powerless
The following
review contains spoilers for Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Season
2 Episode 15 Powerless.
Episode Synopsis
Thor, Captain
America, Hawkeye, and Iron Man are fighting the Wrecking Crew. Loki
is still at the mercy of the serpent, but the Enchantress shows up to
strike a bargain. She depowers Captain America (turning him into the
pre super soldier formula Steve Rogers), Thor(turning him into a
mortal), and Iron Man(blocking out the technological savvy portion of
Tony Stark's brain and reducing his armor this original format).
Loki's soul is sent to Earth in the Destroyer Armor, while the
Enchantress waits with his body.
The Enchantress
does warn Loki that should Thor learn humility, then he will regain
his powers. Loki scoffs at his brother ever learning such a thing.
Hawkeye, his
skills still intact, manages to hold off the Wrecking Crew long
enough. Thor is despondent at the fact that he has a broken leg and
he considers himself to be useless. Captain America tries to rally
everyone, as Iron Man tries to get his armor to work. Loki shows up,
fully intent to destroy Thor and his allies.
The spirit of the
mortals moves Thor and as a result he gains the humility needed to
regain his powers. The spell is broken and the Avengers assemble to
beat Loki.
Loki is once again
at the mercy of the serpent and the Enchantress checks in with Sutur.
Ragnarok is at hand. The Destroyer Armor is locked up at the mansion
but it looms ominously.
Episode Review
Well this episode
was not as damning as I feared in the quality department. Then again,
there was that little continuity glitch about the Wrecking Crew being
out and law. A wizard did it, I guess.
The plot was
rather simplistic. Thor has to learn humility. Haven't seen that one
before. Although points on trying to figure out how to depower Iron
Man and not have the obvious solution be, put on another suit of
armor.
Captain America
even with his powers was still rather capable. And Hawkeye is a
master of hot wiring things. Who really knew.
This felt like a
self contained action cartoon, although obviously the current
storyline with Surtur continues to move on and move forward. So
perhaps we can judge these last twelve episodes as a halfway point
between the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes and then the next
Avengers cartoon.
Final Thoughts and Rating
6/10 for this one.
Not too bad all things considered. You can watch Avengers Earth's
Mightiest Heroes Episode 41 Powerless on Disney XD sometime this
summer, well legally anyway.
