Episode 44 Yellowjacket Review
This review
contains spoilers of Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes Season 2
Episode 18 Yellowjacket.
Episode Synopsis
Hank Pym invites
Iron Man to the lab to show him an experiment that he has been
working on. After some awkwardness between Pym and Wasp, Pym
summarizes that it was a mistake. Seconds later, after Wasp and Iron
Man left, an explosion rattled Hank Pym's lab and it kills him.
After the funeral
to say good bye to Hank Pym, attended by the Avengers, along with
other super heroes such as Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four, Nick
Fury drops by to give the grim news, to reveal that the explosion was
no accident, rather Hank Pym had been murdered.
A new vigilante
known as Yellowjacket is picking off the members of the Serpent
Society one at a time. The Avengers confront him but Wasp believes
that Yellowjacket is Hank, which many of the Avengers discount. Yet
after a confrontation where Thor appears to be destroyed, the mask
comes off, revealing the truth of Yellowjacket's identity as Hank
Pym.
The rest of the
Avengers get pulled right into the micro prison, which begins to
collapse in on itself. After a fight with the Serpent Society, when
Wasp gets threatened enough of the real Hank Pym comes through, where
he is able to figure out a way to get them out of there
Despite it all,
Ant Man is dead and Yellowjacket lives. Things will never be the same
again.
Episode Review
Solid episode,
perhaps a bit weaker than the last couple but it had its moments.
Some great action some fun character moments.
One of the great
things right in the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes has been the
evolution of Hank Pym. Where we see him just turn into this? And
Yellowjacket was the latest stage right now.
If I had a minor
quibble, the Avengers are characterized well yes, but there is just
something about them that seems off in a couple of places. Then
again, these episodes are not as bad as I had feared. There is some
righting of the ship and it really did get the best of the both
words, with the self contained nature of this show.
Not rally many
dull moments as given the self contained nature, this episode was
more fast paced.
Final Thoughts and Rating
7/10 once again
for a solid episode. As always you can watch Avengers Earth's
Mightiest Heroes Episode 44 Yellowjacket legally on Disney XD in the
United States, among other means.
