Now time to review Teenage Mutant Ninja Turles Episode 4 The Hot
Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X. In this episode, the portal to
Dimension X is opened by Shredder,
against Krang’s wishes, bringing the horror known as the Neutrinos into
the world. Oh and Krang’s Stone Warriors, lead by their commanding officer
General Traag. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Episode 4 The Hot Rodding
Teenagers From Dimension X aired for the first time on December 17th
1987 in syndication.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Episode 4 The Hot Rodding Teenagers from Dimension X
I’ll be honest, this is my last favorite of the five episodes
because it features the Neutrinos. Who I never liked, ever and this was
one episode that when I always watched the mini-series, I tended to rather fast forward through.
Granted, their dialogue was
more timely in the 1980s or early 1990s, but it was still slightly
cringe worthy. They are rebellious teenagers who are being charged with
the crime of wanting to have fun. Really when you think about it, angsty teenagers do in fact vary little the universe over.
And yeah, Krang did warn Shredder that there was no telling what
might come through that portal and it was those blasted Neutrinos. Zak,
Dask, and Kala, if you must know the names of those…things. General
Traag and his association Lt.
Granitor(who if I’m not mistaken was not named until the second Ninja
Turtles video game), follow them, get into it with the Ninja Turtles.
And the Ninja Turtles on the other hand, decide to tack Baxter Stockman’s old van and convert it to the Party Wagon/Turtle Van that we all know and love. But he’s in the crazy house right about now, so who really cares. We fight, fight some more, really this seems like a filler
episode and if I’m not mistaken, this episode was chopped off of that
hacked up two hour Epic Begins VHS that was put out about a year after
this mini-series aired.
You’re better off getting the three individual
VHS tapes or the Volume 1 DVD. Really other than the Stone Warriors and
the fact Krang has a Dimensional Portal(and is still nagging Shredder about his body, which Shredder finally gives in and decides to build), there’s really nothing that is important to this series.
And the Stone Warriors release the absolute worst weapon ever. So laser blasts from Dimension X cannot destroy this weather satellite, but a sword can. Again, just rather nitpicking.
And interspecies romance involving the Turtles…yeah I know that
sounds awfully hypocritical for someone who advocated a relationship
between an evil ninja and an alien brain in the last review, but still
Mike and Kala…no just no. Then again, teenage hormones were likely with
the mutagen.
So this episode while not bad, was ponderous and introduced some of
my least favorite characters. 5/10 for this episode. You can watch
